Obituary / Additional
Information: Died on Sunday morning at half past 2:00
o'clock, Mrs. Henry Hoewischer at the age of 53 years , 5
months, & 15 days, born in Auglaize County, Ohio, on
February 15th, 1840, the daughter of Herman & Mragaret
(Kruse) Lamping. The deceased was the wife of Henry
Hoewischer, living about two miles west of Kettlersville,
Ohio . On Friday morning she was complaining of not feeling
well, but nothing serious was apprehended, & at her own
request she was left alone a few hours, the rest of the
family going threshing to Fred Hoewischer's . Ida, the
youngest of the children, returned home within a few hours
& found her mother lying in a peculiar position . She
attempted to awaken her, but without success . Becoming
alarmed she sent to a neighbor for help . Medical assistance
was sent for, but without avail . Paralysis had done its work
. She never regained consciousness, & on Sunday morning
the chords that bound her spirt to this earthy life were
severed, & she entered into a higher life that knows no
death . Death at any time is awful thing to contemplate, but
when it strikes from the midst of a loving family, the
mother, it is doubly awful . Funeral services were held on
Tuesday afternoon & her body laid to rest in the
beautiful Lock Two Cemetery . An immense concourse of people
attended the funeral obsequies . The deceased's maiden name
was Lamping . She was united in marriage with Henry
Hoewischer in 1855 & 13 children blessed there wedded
life . One had already passed to the world beyond, & five
girls & seven boys are living & prosperous . Rev.
Burkle, of New Bremen. Ohio, preached the funeral sermon .
May her sprit, "beyond this shadow land " find the
peace & rest that world can not give . August 1893
