Additional Information: Hilda E. Klute, 92, formerly of New
Bremen, died at 3:45 p.m. April 13 at the St. Marys Living
Center.
She was born April 24, 1908 in New Bremen, the daughter of
Henry and Sophia (Tostrick) Topp. She married William Klute,
who is deceased.
Survivors are a granddaughter, four great-grandchildren and a
number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a daughter; Karen Klute, four
brothers; Leo, William, Oscar and Emil Topp, and three
sisters; Bertha Topp, Amanda HIRSCHFELD and Clara SCHROER.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Paul United
Church of Christ, New Bremen, and the New Bremen Senior
Citizens.
Funeral services are Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilberg-
Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick
officiating. Burial is at the German Protestant Cemetery, New
Bremen.
Calling is one hour prior to the service. Memorial
contributions can be made to the Auglaize County Hospice.

Ruck, 87, 302 Bielefeld St., New Knoxville, died at 1:36 p.m.
April 15 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
She was born April 10, 1914, in Auglaize County, to Louis and
Anna (Krop) Kuck. In August of 1940, she married Lee Ruck,
who died in September 1964.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Luanne and Gary
Kuck of New Knoxville; a son, Bob of Columbus; four
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Oliver Kuck.
She was retired as the supervisor of St. Marys Public School
cafeteria, and had been employed at St. Marys Hardware. She
was a member of First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville,
and was a graduate of Wapakoneta High School.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev.
David Hunt officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery,
New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church's radio broadcast
fund.

Additional Information: Kenneth D. Harner, 34, 10009 Neptune-
Mendon Road, Mendon, died at 4:18 a.m. Aug. 27 in the
emergency room at Community Hospital, Coldwater, the victim
of an apparent suicide.
He was born May 2, 1967, in St. Marys, to Joseph and Gloria
(Boroff) Harner, who survive in Mendon.
Other survivors are a son, Brent of Atlanta, Ga.; two
daughters, Victoria of Celina, and Amanda of Wapakoneta; two
brothers and their wives, Kirt and Tracy Harner, Mendon, and
Klinton and Amy Harner, Coldwater; a sister and her husband,
Katrina and Bill CaARTWRIGHT, St. Marys; maternal
grandmother, Geraldine Boroff NUSSBAUM, St. Marys; an an ex-
wife, Paula Stant MILLER, Atlanta.
Deceased are the paternal grandparents and the maternal
grandfather.
He attended school in Mendon and formerly worked at New Idea,
Coldwater. He was a member of the First Church of God, St.
Marys, and the Coldwater Eagles.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St.
Marys, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. Burial is at
Bethel Cemetery, Mendon.

Wapakoneta, died at 11:12 a.m. Sunday, Sept 2, 2001 at
Springview Manor, Lima. She was born Oct. 6, 1910 in Lima to
Edward H. and Emma Pfifer Holt. In 1940 she married Russell
Tester, who died April 12, 2001. She is survived by nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Reva
THOMAS. Mrs. Tester was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church, St. Marys. Funeral services will be held at
2 p.m. Wednesday, at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home,
Wapakeonta, with Rev. Joachim Wilck officiaing. Burial will
follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call
from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral

Henry B. Bramlage, who died in 1993.
Survivors are two sons and their wives, Melvin and Linda of
Vandalia, and Russell and Susan of St. Marys; a son-in-law,
William MCCOLLUM, New Bremen; four grandchildren, a step-
grandchild and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Barbara McCollum, seven brothers and
two sisters.
She was a housewife and member of St. Augustine Catholic
Church, Minster, the St. Monica Ladies Sodality, and the
Catholic Knights of America, Cassella.

He was born July 9, 1916, in Dayton, to Marshall and
Charlotte (Jennings) Conover. On June 10, 1939 he married
Mildred Christman, and she died on June 12, 2000.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Gerald and Linda of Celina;
two half-brothers, Thomas and Dennis Conover; two
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two step great-
grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Eugene and Drexel Conover.
He was a retired engineer on Special Assignment to the
manufacturing division at NCR Engineering Division. He was
U.S. Army Air Corps World War II veteran, a member of the
Foremanís Club of Dayton, the NCR Country Club, the George
Marshall Masonic Lodge, and the Antioch Shrine, the
Middletown Shrine Club, the Harvest Chapter 564 of the Order
of Eastern Star, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, the American
Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dayton. He was a
member of the First Lutheran Church, Dayton, and was a
graduate of Stivers High School, Parker Vocational School,
and was an apprentice at NCR.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. June 8 at the Bethany Lutheran
Village, Dayton, the Revs. Rick Powell and Jerry Hogue
officiating. Private family burial will be a the Woodland
Cemetery in Dayton.

Mary (Lamb) Hanover. On Dec. 19, 1948, he married Margaret
Walton, who survives.

of Van Wert, Thomas and Cathy of Athens, Timothy and Cynthia
of St. Marys, and Michael and Nancy of Troy; a foster
daughter and her husband, Christina and Mark BASINGER,
Ottawa; his twin sister, Marilyn CHIVINGTON, Fletcher; a
foster sister, Betty PARCHER, Nevada, OH; 15 grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a half-brother, Robert, and a half-sister,
Mildred.
He was granted a conference license in the United Brethren
Church and was ordained an Elder of the Evangelical United
Brethren Church in Ohio in 1956. He served in churches near
Lima, Bryan, South Liberty, East Findlay, Bridgewater, Van
Wert, Walnut Grove, and served as part-time visitation pastor
for Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys, after
his retirement. He was a graduate of a school in Sycamore and
of Bluffton College. He earned a Bachelor of Ministry and
Master of Ministry from Winebrenner Seminary in Findlay.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Street United

She was a secretary with M K Sales of Dayton, and had worked
at Wright Field, Fairborn, during World War II. She was a
member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys, American Legion
Post Auxiliary 323, St. Marys, Home City Chapter 258 and
Order of Eastern Star, Springfield. She was a 1928 graduate
of Springfield High School.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Joachim K.
Wilck officiating. Burial will be at a later date at
Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield.

at his residence. He was born May 15, 1936, in Quincy, the
son of Ray Phillip and Leona (Ely) Hendricks. His mother
survives in Sidney. On July 20, 1982, he married Vivian J.
Hale, who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Bruce
of Sidney, Robert Scott of Tennessee, Robert Ray II of Upper
Sandusky; a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Christine) AUSTIN of
Oklahoma, step-daughter, Karen KUMMERER of Wapakoneta, 11
grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Roger of
Arizona; two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Nancy ) LANE of Wapakoneta
and Kathy WOODALL of Sidney. He was preceded in death by a
brother, and stepmother. Mr. Hendricks had worked as a
mechanic and truck driver with Roediger Trucking of
Wapakoneta, and later with Pohlkat Inc. in St. Marys. He was
a veteran of the U.S. Marne Corps, having served during the
Korean War. He enjoyed building three-wheel motorcycles,
radio-controlled pulling trucks, and woodworking. Funeral

Funeral Home in Wapakoneta. Calling hours will be Thursday

1988, he married Elsie F. Price and she survives with three

Rostorfer, 41 of Wapakoneta, whose parents formerly resided
in the Jackson Center area, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at
Lima Memorial Hospital. Born April 5, 1960, in Lima, she was
the daughter of George J. and Lorraine F. (Ellis) Rostorfer.
Surviving with the parents are two brothers, Fred A. and
Frank of Wapakoneta and several nieces and nephews. The
maternal and paternal grandparents are deceased. Miss
Rostorfer, a 1978 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School,
had been employed at Auglaize Acres. She attended Mount Tabor
United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Jean Horn
officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bayliff and Son
Funeral Home in Cridersville and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
at the church.

He was born September 15, 1918, near Quincy, to Oscar and
Olive (Kiser) Shroyer. On September 27, 1940 he married
Margaret Wehmeyer who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Edward and Mary Ann
of Wapakoneta; a daughter and her husband, Annette and Thomas
BARLOW, Manchester, Conn.; a brother, Sherman of
Kettlersville; a sister and her husband, Helen and Paul
PULFER, Maplewood, and a sister, Dorthea TEETERS, Celina; and
two granddaughters.
Deceased is a son, Allen R.
He was the former mayor of Port Jefferson. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II and served as Staff Sergeant with the
2nd Battalion 115th Infantry Regiment 29th Division. He was a
member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kettlersville,
a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2216,
Jackson Center, and a member of Disabled American Veterans of
Shelby County.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev.
James Melter officiating. Burial is at German Protestant
Cemetery, New Bremen.

He was retired as a rural mail carrier at the St. Marys
branch of the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Staff Sergeant
and U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the 69th
Division earning the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star and
Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Post 323 and
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, both of St. Marys. He was
a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys.

Additional Information: Velma Jane Post, 85, of Spencerville,
died at 5:30 p.m. July 9, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home,
Spencerville.
She was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Auglaize County, to Walter and
Cathern (Becker) Miller. On Aug. 9, 1954, she married L.
Howard Post, who survives at the nursing home.
Deceased is a sister, Dorothy DAVIS.
She taught at Spencerville Schools for 45 years, serving as
elementary principal for eight. She graduated with a
bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Bowling Green
State University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma
Society, a past member of the retired teachers association, a
Jennings Scholar, a member of the Spencerville Grange #2424,
a member of Ida Rebekah Lodge #391, a member of Chapter 130
of the Order of Eastern Stars, where she held various
positions. She belonged to Spencerville United Church of
Christ, where she served on the official board, taught Sunday
School, sang in the choir and served as secretary for church
records.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Ronald L.
Shifley officiating. Burial is in New Salem Cemetery.
Calling is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Thomas E.
Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, and after 9 a.m. Friday
at the church.

State baseball player, he formerly played on the Sidney
American Legion baseball team. He was a member of St. Michael
Catholic Church and the Sons of the American Legion, both of
Fort Loramie.

Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev. He suffered an apparent heart
attack while vacationing with his wife.
He was born July 9, 1949, in Minster, to Urban and Alvina
(Kemper) Heitkamp. His mother survives in Piqua. On May 8,
1971, he married Barb Williams and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Terry Jr. and Kelly of
Minster, and two sons, Tracy of Minster and Travis of Dayton;
a daughter, Leah of Minster; four brothers and their wives,
Donald and Shirley and Kenneth and Ronnie, all of Minster,
Larry and Judy of St. Henry, and Gary and Jane of Celina; a
sister and her husband, Mary Jane and Duane BACHMAN, Piqua;
and two grandchildren.
He was employed at Minster Machine Co. A U.S. Army veteran,
he formerly served as Little League and Acme League coach in

St. Marys- Onnalee Heil, 84, died Thursday, June 30, 1994 at
Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was born on
August 27, 1909 in St. Marys to Frank and May (Copsey) Murry.
On July 21, 1928, she married Arnold Heil, who preceded her
in death on May 27, 1985. Mrs. Heil is survived by a
daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) MILLER, of St. Marys; four
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great
grandson; and one brother, Richard Murry, of St. Marys. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson,
Tommy Miller. Mrs. Heil was a homemaker and a member of St.
Paul's United Church of Christ in St. Marys. She was a member
of Eagles Auxillary as well as American Legion Auxillary.
She also served as president of the American Legion Auxillary
323 in St. Marys. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2
p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys with Rev.
Patrick McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove
cemetery in St. Marys. The American Legion Auxillary 323 in
St. Marys will also hold a memorial services for Mrs. Heil at
7 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home. The family will
receive friends Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home from 6 to

Additional Information: Louis W. Landwehr, 82, 215 S. Main
St., Englewood, died April 30 at Dayton Heart Hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1918, in New Bremen, to Raymond and Erma
(Kettler) Landwehr. On Aug. 25, 1946, he married Dolores
Lindemuth, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Raymond L. and
Jane of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronald W. and Ada of Verona; a
daughter and her husband, Joy K. and Michael BENTON, South
Mills, N.C.; a sister and her husband, Rosie and Leon
GERLING, Wapakoneta; and eight grandchildren.
He was retired from Meadow Gold Dairy in Dayton, and was a
U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home,
New Bremen, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial is at
Willow Grove Cemetery, New Bremen.

Memorial Fund.
