Dickman, 95, died at 10:06 p.m. May 2(2001) at Luther Manor
in Dubuque, Iowa.
She was born Aug. 27, 1905, in Minster, to Charles H. III and
Mary Elizabeth (Brinker) Dickman.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers and five sisters.
She was a bookkeeper for insurance companies in Dayton and
Minster, and was a member of St. Anthony Church in Dubuque,
Iowa. She was a former member of St. Augustine Church in
Minster, and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Dayton.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church in
Minster, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will
follow in the church cemetery.

She was born March 9, 1910, in Fryburg, to Ben and Katherine
(Kupper) Line. On June 25, 1929, she married Harold Hobler
who died Jan. 4, 1970.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Ned and Dorothy of Moulton;
a daughter, Doris Ann MCCONNELL, Moulton; five grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Olga SHEIPLINE, and a son-in-law, J.
Robert McConnell.
She was a homemaker and worked for the former D.W.G. Cigar
Co., Wapakoneta, and in the dietary department of Joint
Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was a
member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, Trinity
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Moulton, and Wapakoneta Senior
Citizens. She attended the former Blume High School,
Wapakoneta.
Services are at Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, the
Rev. Kieran P. Darcy officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn
Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

She was born April 9, 1919, in Wapakoneta, to Arthur and
Prudencia Kellermeyer. She first married Marcus Burden, who
died in 1970, and then married William Eichelberger, who died
in 1997.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Jean and Ted RUSH,
St. Marys; five brothers, Arthur of Spencerville, Robert of
St. Marys, Thomas of St. Marys, Richard of St. Marys and
Larry of Arizona; four sisters, Betty YOUNGS, St. Marys, Rita
MICHAEL, St. Marys, Carol BEANE, Wapakoneta and Mary Jo
SPECKMAN, Dayton; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Mark Allen Burden.
She was a housewife, and had worked at the St. Marys Woolen
Mill.
Private family services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Elm Grove
Cemetery, St. Marys. Burial will follow the service.

Information: Richard L. Weimert, 87, of Wapakoneta, died at
9:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept 27, 2001, at Auglaize Acres. He was
born June 12, 1914, in Wapakoneta to C. Fred and Teresa
(Zink) Weimert. He is survived by two sisters, Cecilia
DESCHLER, San Diego, Calif.; Mary MCGARRY, Ontario, Calif.;
and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
three brothers, Vernon, Harold and Roland Weimert; two
sisters, Marjorie HARGIS and Pauline MCKINLEY. Mr. Weimert
retired in 1977 from Clark Equipment Company, Lima. He was a
member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. He was a
member of Elks 1170 and Eagles 691, both of Wapakoneta. He
was a 1932 graduate of St. Joseph High School where he was
captain of the 1931-1932 basketball team. He was an avid
sports enthusiast. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. William Eilerman
officiaing. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery,
Wapakoneta. Friends may call at Bayliff & Eley Funeral

Lima, died at 10:20 p.m. Friday, Sept 28, 2001 in Lima
Convalescent Home. She was born June 25, 1920 in St. Marys to
Alfred and Clara Leoto (Kuck) Hegemier. On April 5, 1941, she
married Berle C. Roush in Lima who died May 17, 2000. She is
survived by two daughters, Carla Sue Roush, Atlanta, Ga.; Ann
(Jeffrey) CAROLUS, Lima; an adopted daughter, Bunny LORE,
Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son , Dennis L. Roush; one
brother, Carl Hegemier and step-father, Damon L. BISHOP. Mrs.
Roush was a registered nurse and had been an industrial nurse
at Ford Motor Company and BLH. She had also worked at Lima
Convalescent Home and also did private duty nursing. She was
a member of New Creation Lutheran Church, formerly Peace
Lutheran Church and their Church Circle. She was a graduate
of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. A member
of the Lima Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association,
Charter Member of Alpha Theta of Omega Sigma Sorority. Member
of VFW Auxillary. Funeral services will be held at, at
Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. Rahel Hahn,

Tester, 82, of Stinebaugh Drive, Wapakoneta, died at 9:35
a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He
was born June 21, 1919 in Auglaize County to Carl E. and
Clara M. (Nuesmeyer) Tester. On Nov. 8, 19476, he married
Betty L. Ryan, and she survives. He is survived by two
brothers, Gerald (Clara) Tester and Jim (Nancy) Tester, both
of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Helen LINK of Wapakoneta; Everlyn
(Harold) SCHROLUCKE, St. Marys, and numerous nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Virgil
Link. Mr. Tester retired as superintendent with Wapak Sand
& Gravel Company, Wapakoneta. He was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church in Moulton. He was a veteran of the United
States Army, having served during World War II. He was a
member of the Moulton Gun Club, Moulton, and Northmoor Golf
Club, St. Marys. His hobbies included golfing and trap
shooting. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in

Oct. 23 in the emergency room at Joint Township District
Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was taken there following a
shooting at his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1982, in St. Marys, to Brenda (Cook)
SUTTON and Scott Miller. They survive in St. Marys.
Also surviving are three brothers, Johnathan of Lebanon, and
Andrew and Toby, both of St. Marys; and the maternal
grandparents, James and Theora (KETCHAM) Cook, St. Marys.
Deceased are the paternal grandparents, Dave and Linda.

He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys
and a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in St.
Marys. He was a charter member of the Grand Lake Beagle Club
and former president of the Mercer County Garden Club. He
enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and wood carving.

OSTERLOH Winner and she died June 30, 1989.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Marlene and
William MEYER, Minster, and Pat and Dennis SCHWARTZ, Fort
Loramie; four stepsons, James WINNER, Hillsboro, Roger and
Dean Winner, North Star, and David Winner, Bowling Green; a
stepdaughter and her husband, Diana and Dan HART, Middletown;
a brother and his wife, Richard and Dorothy of Bayonet Point,
Fla.; five grandchildren, 17 stepgrandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
He retired from the panel shop at Minster Machine Co. He
served in the European Theatre during World War II and earned
a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic
Church, the Veterans of Foreign Post and the Minster Machine
25 Year Club, all of Minster.

Niekamp, 72, 44 E. Walnut St., Chickasaw, died April 6, 2002,
at his residence.
He was born Nov. 17, 1929, in New Bremen, to Alfred and
Martha (Deppen) Niekamp. On July 8, 1950, he married Audrey
"Auddi" Garman and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Rick and Jan of
Coldwater; four daughters and their husbands, Diane and Marv
BOECKMAN, Wapakoneta, Sandi and Steve RAMMEL, St. Henry,
Karen and Tom HESS, Chickasaw, and Pam and Dennis SCHULZE,
New Bremen; five brothers and their wives, Cy and Roberta and
Mike and Brenda, all of Montezuma, Moe and Diane of New
Bremen, Dale and Shirley of Coldwater and Larry and Betty of
Minster; four sisters and their husbands, Bernice and Mark
KREMER, St. Henry, Ruth and Evart DORSTEN, Montezuma, Nita
and Joe DELELLIS, Dayton, and Jan and Ed IMALLE, Vandalia; 22
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Deceased are a sister, Doris Niekamp; three siblings in
infancy and two grandchildren.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys,
where he had been a member of the Top Ten Club. He was one of
the founders of the Chickasaw Park and formerly served as a
member of the Chickasaw Volunteer Fire Department and
Chickasaw Village Council. He also was a former Little League
baseball coach and an adviser for the Chickasaw Boys 4-H
Club. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church,
Chickasaw, and the St. Marys Tri-Squares.
Funeral Mass ..at the church, the Rev. Kenneth Schroeder
officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling...at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 4:30 a.m. April 6, 2002, at
the St. Marys Living Center.
She was born July 28, 1923, in Albany, N.Y., to the Rev. W.E.
and Anabelle (Barnes) Baker.
Surviving are two brothers, Dr. Ralph of St. Petersburg,
Fla., and the Rev. Elmer of Blue Springs, Mo.
She attended grade school in Ravena, N.Y., and graduated from
Litchfield High School in Litchfield, Mich. She received a
bachelor of science degree from Ohio Northern University,
Ada, and a master's of education degree in administration
and guidance from Bowling Green State University.
She retired in 1977 after teaching and/or working as a
guidance counselor in Michigan, Lima, Elida, Wapakoneta and
Greenville. She spent a year as an exchange teacher in
Honolulu.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ,
Wapakoneta, the Grange, Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine,
Tri-Moraine Audubon Society, Allen County Herb Society, the
Homemakers Extension Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Auglaize
County Retired Teachers Association.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Howard
Toback officiating. Private burial services will be held in
Fletcher.
Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Contributions can be made to the church.

Maurer, wife of Karl Heil II, died Friday, April 22, from a
llingering illness at the age of 57 years, 11 months, and 28
days. Deceased was born April 24, 1834 in Weiswiller,
province of Rheinpfalz, Germany, emigrated in 1853 and
married February 1855. She leaves a devoted husband and six
children Burial took place Sunday afternoon, April 24th at
the German Protestant cemetery, Rev. M. Buerkle conducting
the services.

Additional Information: August J. Heil Ends Life by Hanging
Self... August Julius Heil, well-known and highly esteemed
citizen of New Bremen, committed suicide this morning at 9
o'clock by hanging at his home in Herman street... A
bricklayer by trade, he early became accustomed to strenuous
labor. His father was a bricklayer and many of the brick
structures of New Bremen testify to the workmanship of the
Heil family. The deceased reached the age of 69 years, 3
months. He made his home with his daughter, Alma- Mr. and
Mrs. Herman C. Leitz. He was the son of Carl C. and Dorothy
Mauerer Heil, long since departed, and his wife, nee Gilberg,
preceded him in death in 1920. Among the immediate relatives
of the deceased are two sons and one daughter, namly Otto
Heil, of Huntingon, Ind., Walter Heil of Ft. Recovery, Ohio,
and Mrs. H.C. Leitz, of New Bremen, Ohio, four grandchildren
and one sister- Mrs. Minnie PAPE of Delphos, Ohio. Funeral
arrangements are not yet announced. The remains are lying in
state at the Gilberg & Hegemeier funeral home. Coroner
Veit held the inquest.

Charles August Heil, well known citizen of New Knoxville and
step-father of County Engineer G.A. Shuster, died Thursday
afternoon at 3 o'clock after an illness of several days.
He was stricken with paralysis Monday and has since been
helpless and little hopes were entertained for his recovery.
The deceased was born in New York City, June 16, 1851, and he
had consequently attained the age of 71 years and 13 days.
He was born the day following the landing of his parents,
Mrs. and Mrs. Adam Heil in the port of New York, they having
sailed a short time before from Germany. The Heil family came
to New Bremen, this county, immediately while Mrs. Heil
remained in New York for three weeks with the new born baby
and then followed her family. Mr. Heil, the deceased married
Anna Tangeman, October 16, 1873, which union was blessed
with 11 children of which three boys and two daughters
survive. On May 31st he again united in marriage with Mrs. D.
SHUSTER. About thirty-three years ago he moved to New
Knoxville and followed the blacksmith's trade with which
he was ever active until last August when he suffered a
stroke of apoplexy and was forced to retire. There remains to
mourn his departure his bereaved widow, five boys, Edwin Heil
and Herbert Heil, St. Marys; Ferd Heil, Wapakoneta; Harvey
and George Shuster, New Knoxville; two daughters Rosa, Mrs.
Lewis SETTLAGE, near New Knoxville; Amelia, Mrs. ROBERTS,
Milton, West Virginia; twenty-five grandchildren and two
great grandchildren, one brother, Jacob Heil of
Spencerville, Ohio also survives. Funeral services will be
held Sunday at 1:30 from the house and continued at the M. E.
Church, Rev. Paul Philipps officiating. Internment at Pilger
Ruhe.

Obituary / Additional Information: Adrian L. Kruse, 56, of
R.R.2 Wapakoneta, died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday (3-15-1978) in
Joint Township District Memorial Hospital following a heart
attack. He was born May 20, 1921, in Shelby Co., the son of
William F. and Nora (Mullenkamp) Kruse. On Aug. 30, 1942, he
was married to Dorothy Thuman who survives. Other survivers
include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Carol) PAUL of R.R. 1, New
Bremen, two sons, Larry and Ronald, both of New Knoxville,
four granchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William (Marjorie)
STOLTZENBURG of Wapakoneta and Mrs. E. J. RHOADES of
Lakewiew; and a brother, Wilson Kruse of R.R. 2, Wapakoneta.
Mr. Kruse was employed at the Hoge Brush factory in New
Knxoville for the past 10 years. He was a member of the
Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Shinbone. Services
will be 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Jon W. Barker
officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilger-Ruhe Cemetery,
New Knoxville. The family will receive friends at the Charles

Loramie, died at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 8, at Heritage Manor Nursing
Home, Minster.
She was born March 22, 1908, in St. Patrick, to Anton and
Elizabeth (Sommer) Eilerman. On June 12, 1929, she married
Raymond B. Pleiman who died March 22, 1993.
Survivors are three sons, Harvey of Gainesville, Fla., Elton
of Fort Loramie, and John of Sidney; a son-in-law, Richard
BARHORST, Fort Loramie; a daughter and her husband, Ruth and
Robert BIRKMEYER, Coldwater; five brothers, Albert Eilerman,
Sidney, John Eilerman, Fort Loramie, Paul Eilerman, Sidney,
and Tony Eilerman, Fort Loramie; two sisters, Mary KUETHER,
Houston, and Bertha WENNING, Osgood; 23 grandchildren and 32
great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Mary Barhorst.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic
Church, Fort Loramie, and the St. Anne Ladies Sodality.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev.
Steven Shoup officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.

Information: Ralph E. Chaney, 77, 117 S. Beech St., St.
Marys, died at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 9, at his residence following
an extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1924, in Jamestown, to Charles and Mary
(Murphy) Chaney. On March 8, 1947, he married Martha
Thompson, who survives.
Other survivors are four sons and their wives, Charles and
Kathy and Larry and Chris, all of St. Marys, Melvin and
Madonna of Rockford, and Rick and Jackie of Celina; a
daughter and her husband, Brenda and Kevin HANCE, St. Marys;
a sister, Mabel WILLIAMS, Celina; 17 grandchildren and 36
great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert Sr. and Virgil; a sister,
Reva SANDERS; and a great-granddaughter.
He retired from Fowler's Television, St. Marys, and was a
U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member
of Hillsdale Baptist Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, at Miller Funeral Home, St.
Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial is at Elm
Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

SCHROER.
She was a retired bookkeeper from Lock Two Grain and Milling
Co., New Bremen, and formerly worked as a sales clerk at the
Arcade Department Store. She was a member of St. Paul United
Church of Christ, New Bremen, where she was a member of the
Capsule, sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School
teacher for 32 years in the primary department.

Wapakoneta, died Sept. 25 at his home.
He was born March 7, 1931, in Perry Township, Allen County,
to Floyd Eugene and Helen Belle (Brown) Hardesty. On Oct. 19,
1954, he married Virginia I. Ramga who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Mark and
Michelle of Maria Stein, and Greg and Chris of Elida; a
daughter and her husband, Paula and Jeff LOWRY, St. Paris,
and a daughter, Lucinda of Manhattan, Kan.; a brother, Bill
of Strongsville; and six grandchildren.
He was a dairy farmer, an Auglaize County Fair Board member
and a dairy route driver. He was a member of Uniopolis United
Methodist Church, where he held the positions of trustee and
lay leader. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 4-H advisor,
secretary of the Auglaize County Cattlemen's Association
and president of the Auglaize County Farmer's Market. He
was clerk of the Union Township Trustees, director of Milk
Marketing Inc., and president of the Auglaize County Dairy
Service and Ohio Ag Services.
Services are at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville,
the Rev. Jean Horn officiating. Burial at Fairmount Cemetery.

County, to Elvin and Leah (Huber) Schroer. On May 20, 1945,
she married Gene Frank and he survives.

She was a homemaker and a 1941 graduate of Memorial High

the church circle. She was also a former 4-H adviser.

Marys St., New Knoxville, died at 11:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Valley
Nursing Home, St. Marys. He reportedly was the oldest
resident of New Knoxville.
He was born Nov. 8, 1899, in New Knoxville, to Benjamin and
Anna (Maneke) Meckstroth. On April 20, 1922, he married
Jennie Marie Katterheinrich and she died Feb. 3, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois SCHULLER, New Knoxville;
two daughters-in-law, Wilma, St. Marys, and Sandra BERLET,
New Knoxville; a brother and his wife, the Rev. Arnold and
Martha, St. Marys; seven grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Roland and Dale; a brother, Clarence;
two sisters, Louise and Lydia ; one grandson and one great-
grandson.
A 1916 graduate of New Knoxville High School, he worked at
Kramer & Dickman from 1919 to 1924. He later worked at a
milk bottling plant in St. Marys from 1924 to 1946 and
retired from Hoge Lumber Co. in 1972. He was a member of New
Knoxville United Methodist Church.

He was the retired owner and operator of Vanderhorst Cannery,
St. Marys. He was a 1940 graduate of Memorial High School,
St. Marys, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He had served on the
board of directors of Home Banking Co. and the Joint Township
District Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, both of St.
Marys, and as a St. Marys Township trustee. He was a member
of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member and past grand
knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1592, and a member of
American Legion Post 323 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars,
all of St. Marys, and the Ohio Canners Association.

Marys, died the morning of Nov. 7 at his residence. The cause
of death is pending results of an autopsy.
He was born April 18, 1939, in St. Marys to Bernard and
Estella (Wendel) Craft. His mother survives in St. Marys. On
Aug. 28, 1957, he married Ruth Polen, who survives at the
residence.
He is survived by a son, Richard of St. Marys; two sons and
their wives, Tom and Allison and Scott and Deb, both of Ft.
Worth, Tex.; three daughters and their husbands, Lisa and

from the St. Marys Fire Department as a captain and
paramedic. In 1983, he was awarded the Ohio Fire Service
Valor Award from Governor Richard Celeste. He was a member of
American Legion Post 323 in St. Marys. He served eight years
in the United States Army Reserves and was a member of Holy
Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the
church, the Revs. James Byrne and David Heinl officiating.
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys.
