Additional: Ruth P. Bambauer, 74, of 10631 Kettlersville Road, New Knoxville, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday January 7, 1990 in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. Born May 5, 1915, in Washington Township, Auglaize County, she was the daughter of William J. and Ida (Wellman) Settlage. On October 6, 1934, she married Robert A. Bambauer, who died August 14, 1972. Survivors include two sons, Roger and Wayne Bambauer, both of New Knoxville; four daughters, Wanda Deter of Reynoldsburg, Mrs. Dean (Mary) Deerhake of Lebanon, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Waggoner of Willard, and Mrs. Don (Suzanne Kay) Murphy of Algonac, Mich., 17 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Adrian Settlage of New Knoxville. One brother Rufus, preceded her in death. Mrs. Bambauer was a homemaker and volunteered at the Auglaize School and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the New Knoxville Historical Society and the First United Church of Christ where she was active in the Women's Guild, the Truth Seekers and taught in the Sunday School Nursery Department for many years. Funeral services will be held in the First United Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Jon R. Coddington will officiate and burial will follow in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Her family will receive friends in the Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
