Additional: Rockford—Roland A. Boyce, 94, died at 1:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, August 20, 1996, at Shane Hill Nursing Home. He was born May 14, 1902, in St. Marys to Arthur and Agnes (Crone) Boyce. On Aug. 20, 1925, he married Esther Heil, who died July 16, 1991. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Grace, Ohio City; Tom and Judy, Rockford; a daughter and son-in-law, Russell and Joan Watkins, Pleasant Mills, Ind.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Emmet and Eugene; and a sister, Leona Suchland. Mr. Boyce was a plumber and electrician who retired in 1965. He was a member of Shanes Lodge 377, F.& A.M.. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home with the Rev. Karen Long officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will begin at 8:30 p.m. The preferred memorial is to the church.
