Additional: LaVerne A. Dodson, 76, formerly of 516 S. Ash St., St. Marys, died at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Joint Township District Hospital in St. Marys. She was born April 10, 1924, in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of George and Frances (Tomlinson) Anderson. She married Marcus Dodson, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, James (Connie) Dodson of Glendale, Ariz.; a daughter, Rebecca (Darrell) Dilsaver of St. Marys; a sister, Jessie Wesner of St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Carol Palmer of St. Marys; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Iva Allison, Tina Duncan and Georgia Anderson, and two brothers, Tom Anderson and Forrest Anderson. Mrs. Dodson was retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. She attended the First Baptist Church in St. Marys and enjoyed reading. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys with the Rev. Ron Spurgion officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton. Friends may call from noon until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
