Additional: E. Edward Eberle, 68, 1 Hararbye St. New Bremen, died at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 9, 1932, in St. Marys, the son of Wilbur and Mary (McMurray) Eberle. He married Jo Anne Doorley on Sept 26, 1959, who survives. Other survivors include three sisters-in-law, Maxine (Ed) Horman of Wapakoneta, Irene (Paul) Freytag of Minster and Alice (Don) Kohler of Rogers, Ark; a brother-in-law, James (Betty) Doorley of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas. A 1950 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, Mr. Eberle was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed at Monarch Machine Company in Sidney and Duff Truck Lines in Lima. He retired form Wagners's IGA in Minster, where he had been a meat cutter. Mr. Eberle was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 767 in St. Marys, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 in St. Marys and a member of American Legion Post 210, New Bremen. He enjoyed taking care of his lawn and garden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with the Rev. Paul Doorley officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in St. Marys. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, and Saturday from 9-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Fund.
