German Street, New Knoxville, died on Wednesday, May 25, 1983, at 9 a.m. in the Joint Twonship District Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for four days. He died as a result of a heart attack. He was born on May 9, 1906, in New Knoxville, the son of John and Elizabeth (Lutterbeck) Henkener. He married Alvina Eversman on Oct 12, 1928. She survives along with one son, B.J. Henkener, Chalmer, Fla, three grandchildren and one brother, Leonard Henkener, New Knoxville. He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Henkener, and one sister Mrs. Lewis (Loretta) Kipp. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, New Knoxville. Mr. Henkener was retired and the former owner of Orley's Service Station in New Knoxville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the First United Church of Christ with the Rev. Richard W. Sather officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville. Friends may call at the Vornholt Funeral Home, New Knoxville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services. Preferred memorials may be directed to the Auglaize County Heart Association.
