Additional: Mrs. Ella Mary Kuhlman, age 70, widow of Charles W. Kuhlman, former assistant postmaster of St. Marys, died unexpectedly of a cerebral hemorrhage at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at Gibbons hospital, Celina. Mrs. Kuhlman became seriously ill late Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Buss, East Spring Street, and was removed from there by ambulance to the hospital about 7 o'clock in the evening. She had been in her usual good health until shortly before she was stricken. The news of her death was a shock to many friends, Mrs. Kuhlman being widely known throughout the community. She was the daughter of the late August L. and Anna Katterheinrich Meckstroth, of New Knoxville, and was born there on March 9, 1874. Her marriage to Charles W. Kuhlman took place on November 18, 1897, and shortly afterward they established their home in St. Marys and had lived here continually ever since. Two sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kuhlman, Harold, whose death occurred some 20 years ago and Dr. Clarence Kuhlman of Cleveland. Besides her son she leaves to mourn her death her daughter-in-law and one granddaughter, Carolyn Kuhlman; two brothers, Chris Meckstroth, who resided with her and Ed Meckstroth of Findlay, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Wierwille, north of New Knoxville. She was confirmed in the Methodist church at New Knoxville but after her removal to St. Marys she joined the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church in which she was actively associated. She was a member too of the Woman's society of the church and belonged to the Edelweiss club. In recent years Mrs. Kuhlman had served as a cateress at Idlewild club and at many social functions and had a reputation for her excellent service. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon but other arrangements have not been completed pending the arrival of her son, Dr. Clarence Kuhlman from Cleveland.
