Additional: Joan M. Kohnen, 66, Middle St., Wapakoneta, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 9, 1934, in Lima to Harry and Clara (Strominger) Fisher. On July 10, 1952, she married Henry J. Kohnen, who survives. Additional survivors include five sons, Kenneth (Thelma) Kohnen of Newton Falls, Joseph (Carol) Kohnen of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Daniel (Carla) Kohnen and Anthony Kohnen, both of Wapakoneta, and David (Judy) Kohnen of Cherryville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one brother, Frederick Fisher of Wapakoneta; and one sister, Millie Park of Lima. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sylvia Heitkamp, Virginia Combs and Eleanor Jurosic. Mrs. Kohnen was a homemaker who worked as an office secretary with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691 in Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta and was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial will follow at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery, in Fryburg. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, where a rosary service will be held at 8:45 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
