Additional: New Bremen-Katharina Klein, 77, 101 S. Herman St. New Bremen, died at approximately 6 p.m. on Friday March 14, 1966 at her home. The cause of death is an apparent heart attack. She was born April 2, 1908, in Ober-Eidisch, Romania. She was the daughter of Johann and Maria Emerich, who are deceased. She married Johann Klein Sr., (Oct. 31, 1926) who preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1969. Survivors include two children, Johann Klein Jr. of New Bremen and Mrs. Allen (Katharina) Sandkuhl of St. Marys; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers Johann Emerich of Marktrodach, West Germany and George Emerich of Romania; and one sister Susanna Klein of Austria. She was also preceded in death by one sister Maria Leprich, and one granddaughter. She was a charter member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens, the New Bremen Historical Society, and the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. She and her family immigrated to the United States from Austria 34 years ago today. She became a U.S. Citizen in May of 1958. She was a homemaker. Services wil be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Gilberg Funeral Home in New Bremen. The Rev. Dr. Wade J. Schemmel will be officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant cemetery in New Bremen. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The preferred memorial is the American Heart Association or the St. Paul Church Memorial Fund.
