Additional: John Langston, late residence about three miles northwest of S. Marys, departed this life, December 18, 1878, in the 48th year of his age. The deceased had a severe attack of fever during the fall, but had become convalescent and seemed in a fair way to recover his health entirely. On Friday the 12th inst. he was out of the house part of the day, on Saturday, in the absence of his wife, he started towards the woods in search of some stray stock, this was in the morning. Late in the day parties went in search of him. The body was found about forty rods from the home, partially in the water. The spirit had departed unto God who had given it. There seemed to have been no struggle in his death as the ground bore no indications of being disturbed. The countenance bore no marks of inward struggle, all seemed at peace, as if having fallen asleep. A family of a wife and four children, remain to feel most keenly the loss of a departed husband and father, and the neighborhood of a christian gentleman.
