Additional: Frank L. Niemeyer, Sr., 88, a resident of Lone Pine Nursing Home in New Bremen for the past two years, died at 9:23 a.m. today in Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb 15, 1893 northwest of New Bremen the son of Frederick C. and Louise (Hoberg) Niemeyer. For most of his life, he resided on the farm, where he was born. On Sept. 14, 1916, he married Ruth Brockman who died March 12, 1958. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Robert (LaVerne) Fark of R.R.1, New Bremen; Mrs. Orville (Jean) Dock of Ada; two sons, Robert W. "Bud" and Frank Jr. both of New Bremen; nine grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Alice Dicke of New Bremen. Three brothers, Frederick, Cornelius and Edward and two sisters, Esther and Edna preceded him in death. Mr. Niemeyer was a member of the Home Benefit Association of New Bremen and formerly served on the Westside School Board. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and was a retired farmer. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen with the Rev. Larry K. May officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30-9 p.m. Thursday and until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Lone Pine.
