Additional: Paul V. Nuss, 77, Knierim Road, New Knoxville, died at 10:47 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima. He was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Wapakoneta, the son of Fred and Erma (Miller) Nuss. On March 9, 1946, he married Helen D. McCullough, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Ken (Jamie) Nuss of New Knoxville; two daughters, Karen (Jim) Kohler of Wapakoneta and Kathy (Karston) Blume of Maumee; two sisters, Lola Jean (Robert) Miller of Wapakoneta and Catherine Leis of Spencerville; and four grandchildren, Michael Kohler, Sheryl (Lloyd) Honaker, Krystle Blume and Kendallyn Nuss. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Winfred Nuss and Edward Nuss, and two sisters, Lenora McName and Emily Nuss. Mr. Nuss had worked with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys and later as a laboratory technician with the Brookside Laboratories in New Knoxville. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S.Army Air Corps, having served in the China, Burma and India Theatres. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was a member of the American Legion Post 444 in New Knoxville and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289 in St. Marys. Mr. Nuss was a member of the New Knoxville United Methodist Church. He served as past president of the St. Marys Credit Union. He was also a scout leader with Boy Scout Troop 40 in New Knoxville, a member of the Moulton Gun Club and a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta with the Rev. Mitch Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 444. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
