Additional: Minster, O, April 11—Adam Schmidt, 87, died at 4:20 o'clock Saturday afternoon at his home on Houston Rural Route 1, located on the Russia pike east of Route 48 and west of Route 66. Bedfast since January 18, he died of complications. Funeral services will be held Tueday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Remy church, Russia, with Rev. Frank Ratterman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Schmidt wwho was engaged in farming, moved from Mercer County to Shelby County 58 years ago. He was born at Fryburg, Ohio, December 20, 1861, a son of the late Adam and Mary Schaffer Schmidt. On April 21, 1885, he married Anna N. Werling who is left to mourn his passing. They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this month. Surviving with the widow are these children, Henry of Sidney; Mrs. Wilferd (Mary) Marchal of Russia; Mrs. Harold (Lena) Colby of Coldwater; Mrs. Herman (Jospehine) Ahrns of Ft. Loramie, John S., at home and Henry Seibert of Coldwater. Two sons Peter and William are deceased. There are 33 grandchildren and 70 greatgrandchildren also surviving. He was a member of the St. Joseph Sodality and the St. Remy church. The body was removed from the Heinl Funeral home to the residence where friends may call.
