Additional: Lawrence E. "Larry" Schwartz, 81, 6958 Lock Two Road, New Bremen, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at his residence. He was born April 26, 1919, in Minster to Adams and Josephine (Schulze)Schwartz. On Sept. 25, 1946, he married Louise Rutschilling, who survives near New Bremen. Additional survivors include two sons, Jame (Malinda) Schwartz of Wapakoneta and Roger (Kathy) Schwartz of Midland, Mich; two daughters Betty (Will) of Minster and Beverly (Tom) Strasburg of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Louis (Rita) Schwartz and Leo (Esther) Schwartz, both of New Bremen; and one sister, Dorothy Kahlig of Coldwater. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Albert and Norbert Schwartz; and two sisters, Henrietta Wente and Clara Schwartz. Mr. Schwartz was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen, the American Legion Post 241 in New Bremen, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the Knights of St. John in Maria Stein and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1391 in Minster. He was co-owner and operator of the former Schwartz Brothers Garage in Lock Two with his brother Louis until his retirement. He had served in the U.S.Army with the 191st Tank Battalion stationed in Germany and Italy during World War II. Mass of Chirstion Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Redeemer with the Rev. David Conlon officiating. Burial will b held at German Protestant Cemetery, in New Bremen. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gilberg Funeral Home in New Bremen and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. until time of the services. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 241.
